And it’s Goodbye from Me!
This is the first blog I’ve written 20,000 thousand feet up in the clouds. My Loganair flight took off precisely on time but not before a little drama once more with my case. There must be something about my case and me that generates enough interest to have me called forward for a case inspection. This is the third time this has happened on a flight from Kirkwall to Edinburgh. Before that, on checking in, my case was 2kg overweight so the extra charge was levelled. So far so good but then when my carefully packed case was opened, examined and swabbed, alarms started ringing, 1% +ve for TNT! The repeat test was -ve,thank goodness. Drama with nobs on! I was allowed to fly but I wouldn’t be surprised if I was met in Edinburgh by a sniffer dog. They must think an older lady flying on her own with an overweight case is suspicious!
Earlier I had my last swim with the Selkies. Hugs were shared as well as delicious caramel fudge biscuits from Rhona.
I graced the new coffee shop in the street and found ‘small world’ links with Kirkwall folk before IainatCreel and the Cheeky Monkey Taxi service arrived to weech me off to the airport. The flight has taken off on time and I’ve had my Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer biscuit and my drink of water. All’s right with the world.
Au Revoir Orkney, these 2 months have been a blast and thank you for everything.
