Staff shortage

I was just preparing myself to go up to the Lauriston Building for the usual draining of an armful (checking bus times, drinking lots of water, etc), when I got a phone call saying they had to cancel a lot of the appointments today due to staff shortage. Re-scheduled for a couple of weeks time, but found I was strangely discombobulated. Went up the allotment instead. This very pretty thing has popped up in the communal flower bed - I'm sure someone will know what it is.
