Tiling

Spent the day in the museum, helping to host a 'Maths in Action' day - lots of patterns, pendulums and puzzles. We were surrounded by posters of our  late and much missed colleague Uwe's work (aperiodic crystallography, but the 2-D tilings make better posters!) - thought about him a lot.

Took several action photos of people constructing the Leonardodome, but not posting as too many random toddlers included who could have privacy compromised.

The extra is a crib sheet for one of the Einstein tilings - this one's the Spectre I think. Only discovered in the last year, so Uwe never lived to see it - he would have been thrilled!
