Picking raspberries
I'm not getting very many raspberries this year. Or strawberries. Or red gooseberries either, now that Bear has found a taste for them too.....
Creation Station this morning, the last one of the summer term, and we saw it out with a cloud of glitter making athletics bibs! Great fun, some amazing creations. Love those kids. Hope they all come back for the Autumn term!
Bean went off to preschool for the last day of term, apparently he did no topic work at all, played with Zachary instead :) he was quite proud of that.
Once I got home and had unloaded, we had time for a quick shift handover before Steve went off to help with ReLoved for the afternoon. Bear fell asleep and so Bean and I had time to finish the decoupage box we started on Wednesday (it looks very pretty now! I must get round to lacquering it), and make a very small batch of cakes with the one remaining egg in the cupboard. He had a thing about making biscuit surprise cakes at the moment. They have to have chopped biscuits hiding in them. So he's learning to use a knife, chopping biscuits in half. The board we used today was a mezzaluna board and Bean asked about the shape of it, saying it looked like a plate underneath - so I took a handful of parsley and let him have a go at using the mezzaluna knife :) He thought that was pretty neat!
Proper tired tonight. Ought to go to bed really. Glad it's the end of "term" although the summer doesn't promise to be a great deal less busy....!
