Looking for Pedros

One of the many things I struggle with as a single parent is coming up with ideas of things to do at the weekend when I have the wee ones.

I was grateful then to Pedros for posting a photo of his time at Haverigg the other day as I thought we would pack a van picnic and go in search of him at the very same place.

Despite living only an hour or so away from it, I can’t say I’ve ever been to Haverigg (extras), but we spent a lovely couple of hours walking over the sands, talking and speculating on why a seemingly once fancy-looking boat had been left to rot. No Pedros though. Instead of staying in a fixed position for 48-72 hours, he must have moved on….

We soon got hungry and so headed back to the van, tucked into our food and just enjoyed the peace and calm of being by the sea.

This ran in complete contrast to the afternoon/evening as we headed back to Kendal and into town for some supplies for m’boy’s food tech class. Town was heaving with so many people engaging in Torchlight related activity, so we didn’t linger long and headed home for tea, but this only gave The Youngest time to self-administer some faceprint (see extras).

We ventured out again for a little while to see the Torchlight parade itself, which was short and sweet and featured no less than four drumming bands. It’s a shadow of its former glory, but I take my hats off to those who give up their time to pull it all together. It must be a logistical nightmare!!

Great day, but I can’t believe Pedros slipped the net…
