Bumps

Next week is shaping up to be a busy one, so I had to head into the office to get some prep work done in advance.

It’s fair to say that post-acquisition and post the staff briefings the other week (which were went to provide some reassurance), morale in the office has never been lower. I’ve tried to lend a calming voice to proceedings - a lot of my colleagues are young enough to be my children - and re-state that there were always going to be some bumps in the road.

In their defence, at a time when the bumpy bits should be getting ironed out, they seem to be growing with other bumps popping up all over the place!

I returned home around lunchtime and in dire need of some fresh air, so I took a wander into town and treated myself to a 45% Fairfield hot chocolate from Kakaw. Has anyone looked into the medicinal qualities of hot chocolate? When I have been feeling unwell of late, I have found them to exhibit some remarkable restorative powers!

Continuing a theme, the chap pictured was scraping at the grass on my way in and was so engrossed in his work that he failed to notice my presence for the longest time.

Kinda reminds me of my new boss…
