Saturday: Cotoneaster Berries

A very chilly 6°C when we got up, but by late morning it had warmed up to 13°C and we had a very pleasant day.

Mr Blackbird had made himself comfortable on the cotoneaster at the front of the house and was swallowing ripe berries whole! :-)) when I went to investigate, and take today’s photo I have to admit that there’s a bumper harvest of berries - thank you Bees!

Lots of blue tits and long tailed tits in the pear tree and the elderberry, eating fruit and finding small insects to feed on. Lots of other birds, including The Robin, have come back to the garden and it’s very nice to see them all :-)

Whilst I was preparing vegetables for a pan of vegetable and lentil soup I noticed half a dozen garlic cloves were starting to shoot, kept them to one side and planted them in little pots of compost to join the ones in yesterday’s Blip.

MrD went out to the mountains on his motorbike then cut the grass mid afternoon, the front garden was left alone because it was so wet.
