Dutch tales

One of the craters

Today we went to the national park of Timanfaya. We payed the entrance fee, parked our car and were led to a bus for a tour by bus which lasted about 50 minutes. Driving through the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote. Wonderful!

Afterwards we got some gravel in our hands to feel how hot that was, dug up fresh from the surface of the land. In a pit some dry branches were thrown which inflamed by itself due to the heat. Interesting!

The visitor centre and restaurant were by design of César Manrique. To be recognised by the huge panoramic windows and skylights

Afterwards we drove to Hatiche to see the building Manrique built when he returned to the island and where he lived for 20 years. Making use of 5 volcanic bubbles to make rooms in. Now it's a museum of his art.

Another fabulous day!
