Cloudy Day Out On the James
We took the day off from most activities. Hubby made ham for breakfast sandwiches while I cleaned a bit. We took a quick trip to a boat launch in the park to look for blip activity. Once in a while there would be a break in the gray clouds but not enough to reflect in the river. And there was no break when the kayakers went by. We had some drizzle off and on all day. We chose to get cozy in our lawn chairs and read. Hubby heated lunch/dinner. When we decided to purchase our first camper, we made a deal to share cooking/cleaning tasks. So far, he’s done well with that. There’s been a little rain at home also. My sister has tide/ground water up to her back step. The rest of us are far enough away from the rivers that we have no flood issues. My son’s home is built on a natural stream so his basement is susceptible if the ground becomes saturated. He has tried to eliminate the problem with many different solutions. I think he may have it under control at the moment. Brooklyn has soccer later today. Hate missing her game. Kim promises to keep me informed. We will definitely return to this park. It is fairly new. It seems they took all lessons learned from building other campgrounds to ensure this one was close to perfect. And they are remodeling our previous fave. Can’t wait to check it out. Life is good. Hubby says we will camp for 8 more years unless something unforeseen occurs. That time will fly by. Wishing you many more years of relaxing travel. Stay safe. Thanks for the visit. “Life is a river; paddle your own path.” - UNKNOWN (artotpoets.com)
