Beautiful vibrant sunflowers
The Feast Day of Saint Januarius. 272 - 305. Born in Naples, a priest at age 15, Bishop by age 20. Patron of Naples, blood banks, volcanos and Tilbury. Martyred.
I bought these tall and beautiful sunflowers from our Rishton Co op. It is fantastic when flowers I love but would normally not treat myself to, are on half price, as were these.
I went mainly to enjoy a good walk in the sunshine and to put items in the food bank for the Parish Church, who collect them and distribute them to people and families in need of support.
Today my daughter Maria Joy Grace, is celebrating her thirtieth birthday. We gave her cards and presents when she visited for Paul's birthday. She is going to ring us later.
It has been one of the great joys of my life to bring into the world a son and daughter. My son is 36 now and has two sons of his own. Maria works hard and enjoys travelling with her partner Ben during their holidays.
We share a love for cats, gardens and family life. She is beautiful, kind and has a good sense of humour. She is excellent at cross stitch. I love crocheting and while I can knit simple things like scarves and bags and hand warmers, Maria can knit jumpers in fancy cable patterns, so she has my admiration for her skill.
Today is also the birthday date of my late Great Grandmother Lillian and my Great Aunty Doris who lived in Tile Hill, Coventry. She also shares this birthday with her cousin Luke who is 36 today.
I am going to listen to online Mass from Sheffield now, and then have my lunch.
I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for visiting my site, blip friends.
Added note about Sunflowers.
Each beautiful flower has a message and the sunflower carries the message "Stand tall and follow your dreams."
Sunflowers turn their heads towards the sun and are loved for the uplifting effect they have on the heart and soul, literally lifting our spirit heavenward.
In the language of flowers, they symbolise unwavering faith and unconditional love.
