One our way to walk to Detling post office this morning to try and get a package posted to Bulgaria.

Those of you with good memories will recall I send a present to a friend in Bulgaria in mid August. When I arrive home from California I was in receipt of an “insufficient postage” card from the Royal Mail and I needed to send £5 to have it delivered.

I duly did, only to find the package I sent to Bulgaria was returned as there was no postage on the package. Fortunately I had the receipt. What we think happened was that the stamp the post office affixed fell off as did the custom note.

As the manager was not around I’ll have to wait to get it resent and my £5 refunded. They will ring. I’m sure they will as it’s a community post office. And Adrian will have to wait a little longer for his 70th birthday present.

Most of the afternoon was spent trying to get the best deal for Susan’s car insurance. After much effort we found that LV were the best especially as they gave a discount for multi car policies.

A long chat with Chris occupied the time til dinner then we played our respective instruments together. Very enjoyable.

There’s been some awesome clouds around this evening as the sun was setting. Very challenging to capture in a suburban location but I hope the extra gives a sense of the majesty of the skies. Someone around us copped a cloud burst
