River Life!

I was working on the steps by the river today. You couldn't actually see the steps for nettles. I stripped them of the nettles then I had to try and get all the build up of soil off. It was hard going and hot work.

The dogs stayed with me all the time I was working. They were so good, but the dogs on the other side of the river wouldn't give up barking or jumping in the river every time mine moved...they are so annoying. I sent a few clumps of mud their way which stopped them from time to time.

The river is really low. Maisie fell in and couldn't get herself out so I had to yank her up. At least she cooled down. I think we need to add another step for her. Poor Oscar wouldn't stand a chance of getting out.

I was lucky enough to see this damsel settle on a reed in the river. I wasn't very close but zoomed in on him. I want to get my wellies on and do a bit of a river walk at the weekend to see what I might get.

No exercise today....apart from digging. I'll try and make up for it before I go to bed. But I'm up early for my bootcamp session and its a 3 mile run afterwards. Much nicer doing everything early ....it's more bearable in this weather.
