aioli monstre!
It wasn't just a grand aioli this year in Entrechaux, it was the Aioli Monstre!
We got to Carrie's before midday as all the roads were being closed off in the area because of the Tour de France. Just about made it and spent the day in the pool, watching the Tour on telly (we saw Paddy with his tricolour!), and siesta-ing. Terrible being so close to the action and going to bed instead, but we were knackered after taking Don to Montelimar station early on.
Sad to see him off. Miss him already. It was lovely having him here, catching up on everything he's been up to, treating ourselves, and just being able to ramble on the way we always did :)
Walked up to the school for the aioli at 7pm and it was the usual drill - pick up an apple box and go around the various stations - at the first person you get a piece of white fish, the second a tomato, the third some spuds, the fourth some cauliflower, then a carrot, a snail, a prawn, a boiled egg, some camembert, a peach, a whack of baguette, a bottle of wine, and of course, the aioli! We all really enjoyed it.
Walked home to see the Entrechaux Bastille Day fireworks above the castle.
Great ending to a brilliant day!
