la fete aux pilles

Spent the day getting organised for paella and the Les Pilles fete (event of the year round these parts!).

Drove to the garden centre to get Carrie a couple of trees for her birthday - couldn't decide whether to get her a fruit tree or a flowering tree, so got her both. A "lisette" peach tree and a solanum jasminoide which produces the most beautiful flowers.

Mum made a great paella for tea. Auntie Lou came too.

Don, Pierre and I dandered over to the fete about 10pm. It was just getting going. Pretty much the same as every year - pissheads, stoners, crazy dancers...it's brilliant. Saw a lot of people I know, including Elisabeth and Guillaume. Great to see Guillaume after all this time. Got a massive hug and there were big smiles all round. So lovely.

Home to try and sleep with the music banging until the early hours...
