Thursday: Beautiful Brassicas

We had both woken up during the night feeling very cold, the bedroom windows are usually slightly open for fresh air but last night the temperature must have dropped and the wind picked up :-((
Consequently, we both slept in until after 8am, no matter there was nothing that needed our attention!

We had decided on a lazy day, I transcribed another few pages of 18th century marriages and MrD also had some paperwork to do, which I helped with towards the end of the morning.

I wore the new boots I’d bought yesterday around the house, they are surprisingly comfortable and got the thumbs up from MrD too :-)

After lunch I potted up some purple garlic cloves from a bulb I’d bought at Iceland a few days ago, they were already sending up green shoots, they’re behind the brassicas on my garden table in today’s Blip. In front of the pots of garlic from left to right: Kale “Red Russian”, Kale “Cavollo Nero” and Cabbage “Golden Acre (Primo 11)” - these are all still protected from slugs inside the large clear plastic storage boxes.
