Yorkshire Wolds Way

We had a lovely, leisurely start to our Sunday with Tea and rolls. We had fun chatting about holidays, plans and family news. I helped C defrost the fridge, which she was delighted about.

Then we went out for a lovely walk following a new route along the Wolds Way. It was quite a hill, but we soon climbed it and enjoyed the spectacular East Riding views towards the Humber. We tried to do a butterfly count and spotted my first speckled wood of the season. Unfortunately (schoolgirl error) as it is 1st September,  I could not record the results on my app.  Never mind, it was good fun to identify and learn about it. We noticed the first signs of autumn, with the blackberries more advanced than in Essex and paused for a while to watch 2 buzzards soaring effortlessly on thermals.

Later we ordered a Hull delicacy as a delivery - Dope Burger. Delicious! C and I had prepared a mega blackberry and apple crumble with a Mary Berry recipe for desert. It was great working together with C in the kitchen and splendid to share the pudding to follow the burgers. I had harvested the blackberries earlier in the week, so it was perfect.
