Smile of Thanksgiving
In case you did not see comments on yesterday’s blip, my sister had no broken bones but her hand is crushed, cut and bruised. It is throbbing less today and she’s taking antibiotics to reduce the chance of infection. Hubby says his foot issue has straightened out; the misalignment happens periodically. For me, I think I had a pinched nerve between my knee bones. The terrible pain eased up some this morning as I tried shuffling sideways rather than walking normally. I could feel relief when I came in off the front porch; maybe the nerve was released. I went out to the edge of the porch to snap these delicate blooms on the Black Eyed Susan vine. The vine has taken over the garden in front of the porch. I really enjoy these simple flowers with their dark centers. Hubby and our BIL finished the deck, small landing and installed new steps. It looks great but you will have to wait until tomorrow for a peek. I have no plans to walk on uneven ground with this knee. So this is a day to be thankful for all our blessings. We had another heavy thunderstorm this afternoon. Hubby decided not to try to get to Mass; there were probably downed trees across the roads. When we went to town yesterday, every road had evidence of recent tree removal. Maybe tomorrow, my knee will feel good enough for me to walk normally. I was totally uncomfortable last night at the park. It was obvious I was having trouble and this one park guy kept insisting on trying to help me. I prefer to get lost in a crowd. My oldest daughter turns 47 today. We celebrated with her at hubby’s event. Her husband always has big family plans with her and the kids so we don’t interfere. And then it will be September. Oh my. Where did our summer go so quickly? Enjoy each day folks. They seem to last 24 minutes now rather than 24 hours. Have a fun weekend. Thanks for dropping by. “Every flower about a house certifies to the refinement of somebody. Every vine climbing and blossoming tells of love and joy.” - Robert Green Ingersoll
