Orla & Conor

Showcase in Banbury

Orla performed Clare de Lune brilliantly at the showcase this evening. There was a funny moment as she sat down to compose herself and started playing, only to find the (electric) piano was not on. There were a few laughs and Orla was able to compose herself again. Then, right in the middle of the piece a car alarm went off just outside! Despite all of this Orla gave a flawless performance! Here's a video. She also took part in the singing this year, with several solo parts. It was a great show, all organised by Orla's brilliant singing and piano tutor, Ellie.

Earlier in the day, whilst Orla was rehearsing, Mum, Dad and Conor met up with Grandma and Grandad at the British Motor Museum and later had dinner at The Falcon at Walmington before checking into the Banbury Premier Inn. The venue for the Showcase this year was the 'Mill at Woodgreen', a converted leisure centre, rather the usual 'Mill Arts Centre' as the latter was out of action due to flood damage.
