We’re on our way

At lunchtime #2 daughter and family came for the van. As it has only 2 seatbelts Phil drove it with Thomas as navigator and surprisingly James made no fuss and went in the car with his mum to a camp site near Bamburgh.

For starting Middle School he has a Nokia - £6 a month for as many calls and texts as he likes. We are trying to get him to text to help with reading and spelling but he prefers to phone. The upside is he calls his friends and they arrange to meet in the park or on their bikes which gets him away from playing games on a screen. It’s great they can be trusted to go out minus adults at age 9 and 11 in the town. Unfortunately they also go off to the shops and buy crap when their mum is working upstairs in her office.

We left at 3 driving to Edinburgh where we parked up.

Got the bus to Buchanan Street, Glasgow.

Got another bus to the airport (English bus passes not accepted).

Walked to Premier Inn which was heaving with very noisy people so we went to our room and ate our sandwich at 8pm.

It’s not an early flight tomorrow. I’m getting excited now!
