Holly Blue

Today's the day ...................... to see again

I said back in the spring that if I ever managed to capture (on camera) a Holly Blue butterfly, I'd let you know.  Well it's taken a few months, but here's one that was in the garden today.

They seemed to disappear again after that initial sighting in May but there were a few around today. It's a bit of a treat to see one at all actually, because it's only in the last five years or so that they have expanded northwards into Scotland. 

There have been so few butterflies this summer that it is lovely to see any - but particularly this rather special one .....................
