Today's the day ........................ to catch up

So nice to see good friends John and Roma who drove down from Penicuik for a spot of lunch with us.  It was also a chance for a belated celebration of both John and Will's recent birthdays.

Later, we went for a walk along the River Tarff to Cumstoun Bridge (see extra) which is a renowned place for seeing kingfishers.  But even with the help of my new Merlin App, I'm sorry to say that we were unsuccessful.  There were plenty of other things to see though, like the beautiful rosehips above and more sloes than I can remember seeing in quite a while.

We just had to catch up with the undeniable evidence that the summer is coming to an end - and autumn is approaching at a rate of knots .....................
