Blue heron

I have seen blue herons off and on this summer, but as soon as I picked up my camera, they would fly away. Today I stopped at one area where I have seen herons other years, and there were 4 of them there. When I first drove along the road, they flew away, but they just moved further down the coast and stayed in that area for awhile.

Sunshine and a nice temperature for being outside. I filled the back of the truck again. I got everything on my list except for 5 pots of ornamental grass, so I am ready to start a big job later this week. I also picked up the rest of the shrubs that are needed to complete a couple of small jobs.

Wild blueberry season is here. I came home with a 5 pound box of blueberries and a smaller box of the blue Concord grapes. They are the only kind of grapes that I really like and  they are only available late August to early September. Rather than make a choice between the blueberries and the grapes, I bought both. Plus I bought another small box of cherry tomatoes since most of mine are still green. I will have healthy snacks this week.
