Amazing shells at Basildon Park NT house
Today I visited another NT house…Basildon Park with my grandson. We did the children’s activities called the ‘Summer of Play’ various games outdoors on the lawn and then went round the house which I had not been in before. There was one room which has thousands of shells in it……some from around the world are in display cabinets such as would be in The Natural History Museum and others have been made into decorative panels/ picture frames etc like this one. Amazing.
An amazing coincidence I met an ex colleague who still lives in Teddington but has a daughter and family living in Wallingford. I have not seen her for over 10 years and would not have recognised her but she recognised me!
As it was raining after this we went to Wallingford Museum. Really interesting with a huge variety of displays about the history of the town, a list of things for children to find around the museum and a craft activity laid out ..making a woolly mammoth…see extra for our joint effort!
