Greys Court - Oxfordshire

Today I visited this NT house for the first time, it’s very near Henley on Thames. . The family bequeathed it to the NT in 1969 on condition they could carry on living there even while there were visitors. The lady did not die until she was 99 in 2009. The whole house still has all her furniture etc which is interesting to see . While I was there looking in the kitchen another visitor was talking to the volunteer and was telling her she was a district nurse for the old lady and what a lovely kind friendly lady she had been…nice to hear that.
There is also a large garden area with several sections of walled garden.

I then proceeded to my son’s house and have started tackling the rather overgrown garden by trimming back lots of ground rambling roses…to discover lots of ground elder underneath too!
