My New Knee

So, this is what it looks like reconstructed with steel, plastic (you can't see that since plastic doesn't show up on an x-ray) and bone glue.  I can't wait to go through the metal detectors next May on my way to Scotland!  Generally, the surgeon was pleased with my progress so far but after taking off the steristrips, he was not as pleased with the swelling and redness around the incision.  The incision looked fine and there is no sign of infection, but I have some new anti-inflammatory meds to take until I see him again next week.  Hopefully, just a wee bump in the road to recovery.
