I got the neglected starter out of the fridge and fed it. Despite a month of neglect, it's already looking pretty good after only two feeds. I'm off to collect some proper ancient variety flour on Monday, and it should definitely be ready for action by then. Mind, the temperature in the living room is 29C so the conditions are favourable (I am not spending any time in there except when cooking).

A swim this morning. At 10 a.m. the air temperature was already 30C, and the water 27. Bliss! I spent an hour in the pool, a mixture of swimming and chatting, then lounged in the shade for more chat before retreating indoors.

This afternoon the thermometer reached 38C in the shade. It is definitely not comfortable to be outside, so more indoor reading and a quick walk for fig inspection (not ripe yet) at 6 o'clock. I will be a bit more active tomorrow! "Only" 33C predicted.
