Special dinner
It was a busy day of cooking for #3 daughter and the children coming to stay. I had to pop down the village to get a few bits I needed plus buy a gift as Jenny along the street had a baby and we hadn’t even known she was pregnant as we only see her driving along in her car.
Ella was playing basketball so they didn’t get here till 7. We had a negroni and dinner. As it’s her 47th birthday tomorrow I made daughter’s favourite, Delia’s roast veg lasagne with aubergines, onions, peppers, courgettes, olives and capers. I’m
glad I made loads as they were so hungry.
Pudding was strawberry lemon soufflé in a biscuit shell. I used to make it for #1 daughter’s birthday and couldn’t bring myself to make it again for years after she died. They all said it was the best dinner ever. Ella then took Mr C off to listen to her Taylor Swift CDs - she’d spent some of the money she earned feeding the neighbour’s cat.
We’ll have to be organised this weekend as it’s Morebattle Games tomorrow and Simonside Show on Sunday then daughter and I get an early train to Edinburgh on Monday.
