Dahlia

In case anybody is thinking "he normally gives the scientific name and/or the variety name" according to the label this Dahlia was of the variety 17cm.  At least other than Dahlia that is all it said on the label.  Has anyone noticed how garden centres, at least the large ones, no longer give such useful bits of information as  annual, biennial or perennial.  So unless you look it up or know it well you might be buying a plant for next year only to have it die off in the autumn.  Surely basic information such as perennial hardy/half hardy isn't too much to ask.
