Backlit
I had to go to Stratford this morning for yet more blood tests - that's three sets in four weeks, which I think might be some kind of record - and I decided to reduce my angst afterwards with some dragon therapy. Lucy's Mill produced the usual suspects for the time of year, plus this lone male Common Darter, who posed very obligingly in the reeds by the north end of the footbridge. Because of the time of day he was semi-backlit, which wouldn't usually be my choice for a nature photograph, but in this case I think the dramatic lighting works quite well.
Back at home I discovered that several nights of poor sleep had caught up with me, and I spent much of the rest of the day either sleeping or slumped in a heap at my desk. It's a good thing I don't have a massive to-do list of housework and gardening tasks clamouring for my attention...
