Lower Mill

I've idly wondered for years what it would be like to live within the Cotswold Water Park, and for the next week I'm going to have the chance to find out: this afternoon the Cardiff, Leeds and Shire crews all took up temporary residence in a very nice three-storey holiday house at Howell's Mere, which is part of the Lower Mill Estate near Somerford Keynes. There are Mallards and Moorhens on the lake ("Du!" said the Baby Brother. "Very good! What does a duck say?" "Ca!"), House Martins whizzing constantly back and forth, chattering, and a few minutes before I took this photo from the top terrace a Grey Heron flew bottom left to top right of the scene.

I could very easily get used to living like this...
