Cheddar

Today we visited Cheddar in the morning. Last here for a 2 week holiday in 2003 when we had 3 small children. I don’t remember much of it but I know we visited a cave. This time we were just here to walk up and down, have a coffee followed by an ice cream and take in the view. We drove up the gorge then turned round and came back down.

Headed out to Weston-super-mare where we found a small car park on a non tourist bit of beach. There we had our picnic and spent the next 3+ hours relaxing and reading in the sun. The sea was on its way out, but it isn’t safe to swim as the muds can be very deep. I paddled and got very muddy.

At 5.30 we packed up and drove round to the main bit of the town to get fish and chips. We had a nice walk along the front then sat and ate by the sea.

A slow windy drive back to the site. Fortunate to at last be getting a few days of sun. We have 2 more days to fill, but we don’t plan to stray far…
