A bit of crochet
We were awake early today. I suppose it’s like the first day of our holiday all over again. And the sun was out. By 8 o’clock I was sitting outside reading my book and feeling the heat of the day already. It was clearly going to be a scorcher.
We drove in to Glastonbury where we wandered up and down the Main Street. Bought a few random things in charity shops, had a coffee, then went on up the road to Wells.
We liked Wells more. Bought a meal deal in a bakers which consisted of a sandwich, drink and CAKE. We should tell Morrisons/Boots/Tesco about that one! Took it to sit in the shade outside the cathedral. Photo in my extras.
We bought a few more things in the shops in Wells, including a small camping table in Trespass sale. Perfect addition to our picnics.
We returned to the site for the afternoon to sit in the sun. I at last finished my first book of the holiday. Not feeling ready to read another one straight away, I got my wool out - it seems that every holiday I try to teach myself to crochet. I am not a one to accept I can’t have a go at every single craft type hobby that exists- this is not something I have a natural flare for, but I do like the end results, so will keep going. I managed this book mark this afternoon which looks very similar to the picture. I have to work on counting the stitches!
Not done any more writing yet but conscious I need to get about 750 words down before my week is out - and yes I do put pressure on myself, but it’s good pressure!
Cooked a vegetarian sweet and sour with quorn and now just lazing. The WiFi isn’t any good but I’m doing this with my data allowance as there is a reasonable phone signal here.
Got another day out planned for tomorrow. Banana plant and hydrangea both doing well - and I have to agree it looks a bit funny in my photo seeing a plant in our set up if you haven’t read the previous blips! But it adds to the fun!
