AOG - Day 2 Time Trials: Bird Garden Flights
On day 2 of the Alternative Olympic Games we join Darcy the Dunnock waiting very nervously at the starting gate to compete in the 'round the gardens' time trials. Unfortunately the nerves were overwhelming and after two false starts, Darcy was disqualified.
A lovely day and a nice temperature too. This morning I walked round Sheringham Park with H, stopping for a cuppa at the end of the walk (I've added an Extra of hay bales). This afternoon I alternated watching tennis at the Olympics on Discovery+ with sitting in the garden and also doing the Big Butterfly Count (just a red admiral and two large whites). Nadal had a real struggle to get through and I've just watched Murray and Evans win their match - no idea how they won as they were really bad in the first set, Murray struggled to hold his serve at all, then they were 4-9 down in the match tie-break, with five match points against them and won the next 7 points to win 11-9. Both players were elated when they won, great to see their fighting spirit.
