Mass Destruction

I’m hoping things are starting to get back to normal. Had to head back down to Stockbridge (not for meds this time, that’s a change!) and then took myself off to the allotment in the evening in the hope of collecting some berries. Success: there were brambles and loganberries for the picking plus the last redcurrants and a lonely rasp. Sweet!
I also collected a pound of slugs, not so sweet. These huge brown buggers are just destroying everything with entire rows of salads chewed down to the ground. Here they are dining among the lettuce - for scale, that’s a full size Cos that they’re feasting on. Other than picking them off I’m at a loss on what to do since normal slug control seems to have no effect.
On the positive side though, I lifted the first few early spuds. Think I might feel that tomorrow!
