Windowsill Jungle
The Achimenes are in almost full flower now, these under the living room growing into one another in a tapestry of colour. They'll be brightening up my house for the rest of the summer :-)
After a very late night indeed it was a surprise to awake after less hours than usual feeling reasonably refreshed. I laid in for a little while but by 11 the car was packed and goodbyes were being said. The drive back from Birmingham surprisingly uncomplicated for a Friday afternoon at the start of the school holidays. By far the biggest queues I saw were heading the other way. I guess it might have been different a few hours later.
Almost home mid afternoon, I stopped at the ball field to give Meg a run before driving the last couple of miles and unloading. After a cold drink, I ran a couple of errands then headed to pottery, hoping to have it to myself and have another go on the wheel. In luck, by tea time I had the makings of two large mugs. Drying out now, they'll need turning before I add handles so as I am working this weekend, I will pop back in the morning and most likely cover them with a sheet of plastic to slow down the drying.
A simple fish supper, an hour of bulb sorting and a walk for Meg before dark. Three busy work days next.
