Special Event
It's Awdry weekend on the Talyllyn, celebrating our connection with the Rev'd Awdry, author of the Thomas The Tank Engine books, who was a volunteer here in the 1950's and 60's. It attracts enthusiasts from all over the world, the rare chance to see the Rev'd's own model engines and to ride on a railway that features in some of the stories, a great draw. There were a good few who came in costume, representing characters from the books. Happy, colourful and not a little eccentric :-) The weather deteriorated as the day went on, but failed to dampen enthusiasm. Tomorrow promises better. Needless to say it was a very full on day in the cafe, as busy as it ever gets.
After work I was fed by Jamie and spent the evening at his. On the way back I picked up some nice finished pieces from pottery before walking Meg. It rained again but not as much as above. Tomorrow we do it all again - in sunshine :-)
Extra pic taken through the outpouring of an overflowing gutter for extra-wet effect!
