Anya
This bedspread was a gift from our good friend Anya who sadly passed away in July 2009. This and other bits and pieces around the house remind me of her in so many ways. Not just the fact of their existence but the colours and their function. She was a very perceptive person and always thinking of others.
For a while I've been wanting to have a go at photographing fabrics, and this is the one I wanted to blip. It's quite difficult, choosing whether to concentrate on a small detail, or the pattern as a whole, how to treat texture and colour. How to convey softness, warmth etc.
Anya is a sanskrit female name meaning "the inexhaustible". A very appropriate name for her. She's still with us in our thoughts.
