Mange tout
The mange tout is 'Carouby de Mausane', which provides nice sweet pea-like flowers as well as the pea pods.
The tree surgeons came today to remove and log our fallen apple tree. They also took down a dead Scots Pine in our woodland copse. We've left three metres of standing dead wood for the beetles. And they took two huge, but diseased, limbs off the ash tree. I've spent the rest of the day stacking the wood which, once its seasoned, split, cut to size and stored, should provide us enough firewood for a couple of years.
