Croft Ambrey
I took the spaniel to the Croft Castle estate and we walked up Yatton Hill past an avenue of Spanish Chestnuts (supposedly grown from nuts taken from the Spanish Armada in 1588) eventually arriving at the multivallate Iron Age hillfort known as Croft Ambrey. There are great views all round but we had to scarper rather quickly when a large number of lively heifers appeared. So I only got to take one image, this is a view south-west looking towards Hay-on-Wye and Bannau Brycheiniog.
