River of Flowers

Wednesday: “See the Sea” …

… a rough translation of the name of our road and one which now makes sense as our neighbours have had the large sycamore pruned.

Saw 3 white butterflies of different sizes, it felt promising and a glimpse of a “normal” Summer! Lots of bees, hover flies and a few wasps around today, enjoying the warm weather.

We have a self-sown hawthorn in the front garden, which the insects love when it’s in flower and birds eat the berries - it’s grown too big, I’ve started removing branches and filled the green garden waste bin.

Blue sky, 21°C when I was doing the pruning - too warm really, but it clouded over and turned cooler

MrD on deliveries and bought some Anglesey new potatoes from the stall on the main road, £3 for a kilo of washed potatoes. We had salad with them for dinner, ok but not a lot of flavour to them :-(

We’re watching “Spooks” Series 5 - not many laughs :-((
