Left behind by a dragonfly

Susan pointed out this exoskeleton of a dragonfly nymph attached to a stalk of mint in our pond.

According to the interweb the skin that the nymph leaves behind is called the exuvia and can be found still stuck to the stem for a long time after the dragonfly has left it. Isn’t it fabulous? And an entry for Tiny Tuesday hosted by Isbi. Thank you.

In other news it was a red letter day for my sartorial elegance. Normally unable to find clothes for my stature I was successful in finding a pair of trousers long enough and three shirts that were also long enough. I shan’t know myself!
