Moving Day

We spend the day moving G’s mum from her Independent Living flat in Bangor to her room in a local residential home. At the moment it’s a four week trial, but she’s determined this will be her new ‘forever’ home.

All goes well, and she’s warmly welcomed by the very caring staff. It’s a slow process, unpacking clothes etc and making sure she’s happy where they’re stored, making up her bed with her own bed linen in exactly the way she wants it - before she changes her mind and decides to go with the original duvet etc. it’s all very basic and minimalist at the moment, but hopefully once the four week trial is over we’ll be able to move more of her own things over to her little room.

Later phone calls reveal she’s very happy with everything - the food’s exactly as she likes it, and everyone is very kind. It seems to be just what she wants and needs.

As for blip, it’s back to my vase of lilies - my bi-weekly purchase for the large vase in our hallway - with a focus on today’s challenge of ‘curves’. And there’s a photo of Mair in her new room in extras.
