Woodpecker

I actually make it to RSPB Conwy today, taking advantage of a break in the showers. Though I’m feeling so much better in myself, walking is still painful - but the realisation that resorting to my walking poles will help means I can wander slowly on my own, leaving G to set his own fast pace to circuit the reserve. I say ‘poles’, but in reality it’s just the one, enabling me to use my camera.

It’s wild and blustery, with little other than some very distant swans and egrets, until, that is, a greater spotted woodpecker catches my eye - so he has to be my blip today. In extras is a wider shot I took, hoping to get the woodpecker flying from the feeder. He’s decided not to move, of course, but the in-flight ‘photo-bombers’ caught midair do make me smile!
