Playtime with Lili

Thank you for all your kind comments on G’s mum’s move yesterday. She seems to have settled down well.

Meanwhile, it’s an early start today as I have a 9.00am appointment in Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool. The traffic’s awful, but of course G’s driving and we arrive just in time.

This is dermatology, and the young consultant who’s taken over from her very experienced predecessor really is out of ideas. Not that she needs any really, as the multi-disciplinary team has decided on the course of action - immunomodulatory treatment (but only after my back surgery).

The full report from my PET scan makes for quite worrying reading - as most medical reports do. Inevitably it picks up every possible problem, and there are clearly lots of areas of inflammation throughout my body with referrals back to three specialist areas.  It just goes on and on.

A visit to see Lili is just what I need after this, so we head over to Wirral. Lili and her parents have all been suffering from colds, but thankfully they’re better. Carried away by offers in the John Lewis sale, I’ve bought several dresses for our little star, but predictably it’s the box they came in which she loves and she sits in it quite happily. Taid immediately starts pushing her around the room making train noises - both of them thoroughly enjoying themselves - well to be honest, we’re all joining in.

Playtime now lasts far longer, with a range of activities including ‘sensory play’ with a foil survival blanket and a chiffon scarf - both of which she loves. Five months old today and getting stronger  every day, she’s managing to shuffle along on her back and loves standing up, ‘walking’ along as you hold her. Such a little bundle of joy.

By the time we get home, I’m exhausted - so apologies for not looking at journals.

There’s a collage of smiles from Lili in extras,  but I love the light in my main - she’s in G’s arms, exploring the wonder of her little world.
