Out Came the Jigsaw

With the dip in temperature and a number of overcast 'nothing' days recently, the coffee table has been cleared and this jigsaw, loaned to me by daughter Becky, has been the focus of cooler evenings.  Charley Harper jigsaws are now found here in the UK but the first of these we discovered in a shop we visited in the States which was entirely devoted to bird care.  They are very unusual in their artistry and very beautiful.  Harper seems to be charting the landscapes of North America and this one is entitled The Alpine Northwest.

It's been a full day.  The sun coming out, I've done several wash loads to take advantage of the recharged solar batteries..  We've picked more blackcurrants, looked through the first aid kits ready for Tony's week at Lagganlia and tested the two way radios.

After lunch I mowed Marjorie's and Lizzie's grass before doing some more blackcurrant picking.  I got into conversation with a very interesting new neighbour who was in the Ministry for forty years in places as far reaching as Ardrossan and Croydon, Larne and Cardiff.  We had favourite places in common, Kyle and Skye, Ullapool and Assynt.  After Croydon, I think he is very happy to come to the quiet of our street.

The end of the afternoon arrived and it was time to don the running shoes and head out with two other Hobblers for a circuit of Goit Stock.
