Less haste, more speed

After a morning vacuuming the entire house it was time to run my Africa Twin again for a bit.  It's amazing how lumpy and chuggy and downright agricultural the engine is compared with the turbine of a Pan European, and it's not very powerful to boot, but the wide handlebars are still pretty good for leverage, perhaps on those narrow, winding mountain passes.  The closest I ever came was probably the Talla Wall that sneaks and snakes up the hill on your way to Megget Reservoir.  The machine needs a bit of a restoration these days though.

But that was just so much idling and a bit of revving, and I soon took off on Fidra for some fuel and some ready mix concrete for further adventures in mending.  I forgot to buy more duct tape though because the stupid somewhat-waterproof cover is shredding itself yet again.  Coming back on the bypass I had the feeling Fidra could crush entire continents.

I also started listening today to another of the Dork-O-Motive podcasts, about legendary junkyard builder, drag racer, land speed record breaker and champion tractor puller Art Arfons, but I started to fall asleep after 45 minutes.  There's an hour and a half still to go!
