Any which way but Lucy

After not feeling like doing very much all day I went out for a late evening walk.  It was murky at best when I left the house and soon started raining.

I came across this old cabinet, which is another of the classic cast iron 'Lucy box', named for the Lucy Foundry in Oxford that made them all.  They are often for electrical supply.  When trams and trolleybuses were all the rage, you would probably have found a Lucy box nearby.  Inside it were typically a rack of big fuses connected to thick feeder cables.  They were also commonly used for telephone junction boxes.  I didn't know of them until BikerBabe pointed out one next to the bandstand we visited in Newbury on holiday.

This one isn't very near anything of note, so I can only guess that it's related to street lights.
