I slept in this morning and didn't get on my way until 7. I had decided I would take the Rose Hill Road from the north end in the city to the southwest end on the Merritt Highway.

I stopped for a panorama of the city. There is a touch of haze in the air which speaks to forest fires somewhere in the vicinity.

I climbed up higher to get a profile photo of my mountains. It's not often that I get this view of Mt. Paul and Mt. Peter. From my house they appear almost as Siamese twins. In this view one can see the saddle between them and the Sun Rivers development below them.

At the summit, a doe and her spotted fawn stepped out on the road ahead of me. They squeezed through the fencing along the roadside, then paused to look back at me. I caught the fawn peeking through the grasses and the doe against the bright morning light.

Cattle grazed in many locations along the route. I found one close to the fence to get a portrait. Cattle in open range always look so clean and shiny.

I was surprised to find a pair of seniors cycling towards me. They had a dusty route ahead of them.

Near the Merritt Highway I spotted this bicycle commemorating a significant event from yesterday. How lovely!

I was home by 9 with my take-out breakfast in hand. I expect my day to be a quiet one at home.
