I was out the door and on my way to Tranquille just before 6. There's a bit of haze this morning. I heard that there's a small forest fire burning just south of us but it's under control. It was started by lightning,

I drove straight to the farm, turned around in their driveway entrance and got myself lined up to view the osprey nest. I could see just one head above the nest. It was moving around as if it were 'housekeeping'. It suddenly soared off the nest, did a loop over the farm out of my view for a few minutes, then sailed back to the nest clutching something. Did it steal an entire nest from the area? 

My mountains look a little fuzzy in the early morning light. I stopped for a shot of the wild flowers along the road's edge - chicory and morning glory. My last photo is a wide angle of the wetlands pond and Tranquille. 

The endless paperwork is calling me again today. With the heat coming up again today, it is a good day to stay inside.
