Their Big Day
With daughter#1 not yet back from her Moray mini break, I had all the toast to myself this morning in my Costa eyrie above Hanover Street. It was a drizzly dreich morning and still is, as I type this while trying to watching the women’s singles final at the same time.
I’ve stopped short of filling a hot water bottle for company but I did pander to a bowl of warming tomato soup for lunch. It’s that kind of day.
As I made my way home from town, I heard the sound of bagpipes coming from the McEwan Hall and made my way to blip the collecting graduands. I just caught the late arrivals with some of their parents and was fascinated by the apparel and footwear on display especially amongst the Asian girls.
I somehow feel that a graduation day should be sunny and hot with champagne on the lawn. Just a pity the lawns of George Square Gardens are covered in Underbelly Fringe paraphernalia and closed to everybody
